Martha J. Watford Way

She dedicated over 45 years of tireless service to the Hunts Point Community.  She became the trailblazer the community needed, making sure her "children" and their families had a voice.  She would open 6 La Peninsula Head Start Learning Centers, providing education for the children and employment opportunities for their families and others in the community. She was lovingly known as "mama" to all that worked for her and we are honored to unveil Martha J. Watford Way in celebration of her legacy.

 We made history on that day, and ensured that Martha's legacy will live on!
