For over 45 years Martha J. Watford dedicated her life to
the community and to the service of others.  As an active
community member, she served over 1000 families annually and
lead one of the largest community based organizations in the
Hunts Point, South Bronx community.  She aptly took what was
once a two-room organization and developed it into a 6 center,
30-classroom organization;culminating with
The Martha Watford Learning Center.

Her mission was simple – children first.  Her programs focused on ensuring that each child and their families were always given every opportunity to achieve all that they could possibly achieve.

It is for these reasons, and so much more, that
The Martha J. Watford Foundation, an early childhood development fund was founded.   Her legacy will continue to live on as her foundation begins to give back to our communities, focusing once again on early childhood education and the introduction of lifestyle choices for our youth.
